I may not have baby lambs, or chickens, or puppies, like some of you all... But I do have:
...tiny, baby pea sprouts! I also have some beet sprouts and the merest hint of a cucumber sprout, but I'd need a super-macro lens for them.
What, my nearly invisible pea sprouts aren't as exciting as lambs jumping around, or chicks peeping and pecking? Ok. Well, what about this little character blooming way in the back of the yard?
Not so exciting? Last year this redbud tree had one single bloom on it. One.
Ok, maybe you'll find view this a bit more interesting.
Or this...
Ok, all better? Yeah, me too.
I'm hoping to post March's Positive Things list this weekend. Pea sprouts will be on it; betcha can't wait, huh?
Yay for positive things! I'll see if I can cough up something for March, too. I missed last month.
ReplyDeleteHey, when you live out on the prairie, and there's not one blade of green grass yet, tiny pea sprouts are pretty darn exciting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree. I can't wait to pick landscaping out for the yard. I want purples and pinks!
ReplyDeleteGarret, of course you do. :) If I could re-do everything, I'd be all over the cherries and dogwoods and a couple crape myrtles--though the dogwoods need shade, I think. And don't forget the azaleas, please.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for my lilac bush... or is it lavendar... or crud. Well, it's a bush and it was planted a couple of years ago as a baby and now it should be it's best year EVAH! I am so eager for its gorgeous purple blooms and wonderful flowery scent!!
ReplyDeleteDriving around yesterday I saw 3 different trees aligned with varying shades of purple. If I wasn't driving, it would have made an awesome picture. I love the trees here in Charlotte! Gorgeous and plentiful.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I'm betting it's lilac...one of my all-time favorites. They don't grow down here, though. :(
ReplyDeleteYay! New, green, growing things are always exciting, especially this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI love me some redbud. Sping-wise, y'all are ahead of us some, nothing blooming or popping out of the ground yet. I enjoy seeing your photo's.
ReplyDeleteFlowers and bushes and trees and peas might not jump around and frolic, but they sure are pretty! AND - my WV is pines!!!
ReplyDeleteNancy in Iowa
The pictures are lovely and I, too, would be thrilled by pea shoots. According to our local gardening gurus we're about three weeks behind where we should be, so I have been holding off on planting the peas. But I think Saturday will be the day!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with redbud - how gorgeous!
Spring is wonderful - whether it's newborns or seedlings! Love your peas and the redbud!
ReplyDeleteWoot-woot! Doing the happy dance for you. Yay spring!!! Beautiful pictures, by the way. :)
